Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

1 Min drive

Located at the most south-westerly point of mainland Australia, where the Indian and Southern Oceans converge, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse stands as the tallest mainland lighthouse in the country. Constructed in 1895 from local limestone, it remains a vital working lighthouse guiding vessels navigating the treacherous cape. Visitors can embark on guided tours to learn about its rich maritime history and enjoy breathtaking views from the top. The site also features an Interpretive Centre housed in one of the original lightkeepers' cottages, offering insights into the lives of the lighthouse keepers and the lighthouse's construction. The lighthouse is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with tours departing every 30 minutes
